LockState Uses Ayla’s IoT Platform for Smartlocks


Solution enables remote management of smartlocks and smartplug via Internet-connected PCs and smartphones

15 December 2015 - LockState, a leading manufacturer of smartlocks announced today that it is using Ayla Networks’ Internet of Things (IoT) platform and cloud services for its product line of RemoteLock and RemotePlug.

LockState plans to demonstrate a range of products at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in early January. They include RemoteLock 6i and the RemoteLock 5i WiFi door locks. The former is a commercial grade door lock, and the latter is an upgraded version of the company’s consumer door lock.

At CES the company plans also to show its WiFi RemotePlug and its LockState Connect system. The latter is a portal that allows consumers to connect WiFi enabled devices such as thermostats and door locks to existing Wi-Fi routers and then control these home devices from an internet connected computer or smartphone from anywhere in the world.

Silver Spring Networks Launches IPv6 Network for IoT


9 December 2015 –  Silver Spring Networks, a leading networking platform and solutions provider for smart energy networks announced Starfish, an international wireless IPv6 network service for the Internet of Things. Silver Spring has already delivered more than 22 million connected devices for IoT networks on five continents. Building on this footprint, Starfish will enable commercial enterprises, cities, utilities, and developers to access a reliable, secure, and scalable IoT network service with service level agreement (SLAs) that meet their needs.

Starfish will first be available in the North American cities of Chicago, San Antonio, and San Jose; the European cities of Bristol, Copenhagen, and Glasgow; and in Calcutta, India.

By collaborating with Kii, TSUC can easily connect to the cloud for user calorie and activity data monitoring. PTC to Acquire Augmented Reality Leader Vuforia


12 October 2015 – PTC today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Vuforia business from Qualcomm Connected Experiences, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, for $65 million. Vuforia is the industry’s most advanced and widely adopted augmented reality (AR) technology platform, and will enrich PTC’s technology portfolio and accelerate PTC’s strategy as a leading provider of technologies and solutions that blend the digital and physical worlds.

Under terms of the agreement, PTC will acquire the award-winning Vuforia business, including the developer ecosystem. PTC is committed to continued investment in the Vuforia platform and to the ongoing support and growth of the Vuforia ecosystem.

Vuforia is a mobile vision platform that enables applications (“apps”) to see and connect the physical world with digital experiences that demand attention, drive engagement, and deliver value. GE and PTC Partner to Pursue Brilliant Factory Opportunity


The companies will bring to market a solution as part of GE’s Brilliant Manufacturing suite that leverages PTC’s ThingWorx® Industrial Internet of Things application enablement environment in GE’s manufacturing software portfolio.

 

29 September 2015 – GE (NYSE: GE) and PTC (NASDAQ: PTC) today announced that they are partnering to deliver an innovative manufacturing solution that will be available within GE’s Brilliant Manufacturing Suite. This new GE-branded manufacturing solution leverages the capabilities of PTC’s ThingWorx Industrial Internet of Things application enablement environment.

The result is an industry-hardened solution that features flexible dashboards and powerful data analytics integrated with GE’s software capabilities on the manufacturing plant floor.

Alcatel-Lucent Acquires Mformation for IOT Security and Device Management


17 September 2015 – Alcatel-Lucent today announced the acquisition of Mformation, a leading provider of mobile and ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) security and device management solutions for mobile operators, service providers and enterprises. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Mformation, headquartered in Woodbridge, NJ, will be incorporated into Alcatel-Lucent’s IP Platforms organization, providing service providers and enterprises with a secure, scalable, application-independent IoT security and control platform for use across multiple industries including automotive, healthcare, utilities, manufacturing and the digital home.
