Macheen Inc. Announces New Marketing VP and Advisory Board

Kent Libbey brings over 20 years of marketing leadership in telecommunications, media, software and cloud-based applications.  Most recently, he was co-founder and CEO of Sharegrove, an innovative real-time communications service, acquired by Facebook in 2010.  Before that he was Chief Marketing Officer of Laszlo Systems, a pioneer of Web 2.0 applications.  And in lead marketing and product management roles at Microsoft and Excite@Home, Libbey helped to define and drive new ecosystems around broadband TV--aligning content, equipment and service providers globally.  He is based in Silicon Valley where he will help to establish partnerships and market presence.

"Kent brings a unique blend of executive experience, with a record of success at aligning new communications ecosystems," said Richard Schwartz, CEO and President of Macheen.  "We see a period of tremendous change and opportunity in services for connected devices, driven by new business models for content, device and service providers, and influenced by the success of Amazon's Kindle and Apple's App Store.  Kent has repeatedly navigated such opportunities in the past and will bring invaluable insights to Macheen as we capitalize on this change."

Complementing the addition of Libbey to Macheen's leadership team, Schwartz also announced the establishment of a new Advisory Board—to provide Macheen with the expertise and consultation in several areas, including strategic planning and industry relations.  Mobile and Internet industry veterans Daniel Shader and Carmel Sofer will be charter members of the board.

"Danny and Carmel—both highly successful and widely recognized industry leaders bring unique skills in driving converging wireless and industry market changes," commented Schwartz.  "After a successful run at Netscape in the early Internet days, Danny pioneered enterprise data and messaging services as CEO of Good Technology and machine-to-machine (M2M) services as CEO of Jasper Wireless.   Meanwhile, Carmel's work also crosses converging lines of wireless and telecom value-added services. Carmel founded Starhome, the industry pioneer for roaming wireless services and inter-carrier commercial settlements while an executive at Comverse Technologies, then later became a venture capitalist at Gemini.  Carmel brings a wealth of knowledge in how to navigate the waters between carrier partnerships and new Internet and cloud business models. "

Libbey added: "Macheen's business relationships with Dell and Sprint are testament to Macheen's unique ability to enable devices that ship 'hot' with mobile connectivity across the world.  I see Macheen as a game changer not only for device makers and users, but also for cloud-based content, application and service providers looking for new business models to support continuous mobile access to their offerings."

About Kent Libbey, Vice President of Marketing
Most recently, Kent was the CEO of Sharegrove, a cloud-based communications start-up he co-founded, which was acquired by Facebook in 2010.  Before that, he was Chief Marketing Officer of Laszlo Systems, a leading provider of open-source Web 2.0 developer tools, adopted worldwide in multiple markets—including consumer, enterprise, education and government. Previously, at Microsoft, Kent led the definition and launch of a transformative new pay-TV delivery platform, widely adopted by tier-one carriers—including AT&T, BT and Deutsche Telekom—as well as a global ecosystem of device manufacturers and content providers.  His early career in marketing involved voice and video services at MCI and Verizon.  Kent holds a BA from Harvard College and an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business.

About Carmel Sofer, Advisory Board Member

Carmel is an accomplished entrepreneur, VC investor and senior executive.  He is currently consultant and advisor to a number of high tech companies in the telecommunications and enterprise networking areas.  Prior, he was a General Partner at Gemini Israel Venture capital fund focusing on investments in the areas of Telecommunications, Media and Internet infrastructure. He joined Gemini after a distinguished career in the wireless and communications industry.  Carmel was the President of Comverse Europe, where he refocused strategy, increasing sales and enhancing Comverse's position in Europe and Asia Pacific. In 1999, Mr. Sofer founded and was CEO of Starhome, a global leader in voice and data roaming services.

About Daniel Shader, Advisory Board Member
Danny Shader is the founder and CEO of PayNearMe, the cash payment network. PayNearMe enables consumers who do not have a credit or debit card or who simply prefer cash to conduct remote business transactions safely and easily. Prior to PayNearMe, Danny served as CEO of Jasper Wireless, Inc. Before Jasper, Danny served as the President and CEO of Good Technology, Inc., the leader in standards-based enterprise wireless messaging and data access, which Motorola acquired in 2007. Before Good, Danny served as a vice president and general manager at Amazon.com, which he joined when Amazon acquired Accept.com, the first consumer-to-consumer payment services company, which Danny co-founded and led as CEO. Low Power ZigBee Smart Energy Module Targets Metering and Control

The ZMM-01 is well suited to many types of distributed control and monitoring systems, for example: wireless charging for electric vehicles, street lighting control, data centre power monitoring and building air-conditioning control.

The key to the ZMM-01's comprehensive capabilities is ByteSnap Design's expertise in combining hardware and software design to develop low power devices. The module is based on the market-leading Ember EM357; a ZigBee radio-on-a-chip which integrates a fully compliant IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee wireless transceiver with the powerful ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller, able to run the ZigBee Smart Energy protocol and application code while still consuming just 30mA to transmit.

Closely coupled to this is the Cirrus Logic CS5467 Analogue Front End (AFE); developed specifically for energy measurement applications. The AFE incorporates on-chip functions for measuring voltage and current to calculate active, reactive and apparent power/energy with Energy Linearity: +/- 0.1% of Reading over 1000:1 Dynamic Range.

The ZMM-01 simplifies working with ZigBee Smart Energy – implementing a complete ZigBee SE smart meter now only requires the addition of a shunt resistor and current transformer (CT). The resulting device can form the heart of a meter that meets IEC EN62053-21 class 1 or 62053-23 class 2.

The ZMM-01 offers a Smart Energy solution that is ready for system integration. The ZDM-01 Development Kit complements the ZMM-01 Smart Energy module, providing a complete platform for module evaluation and code development.

Dunstan Power, Director, ByteSnap Design, commented: "Energy management is expected to help drive the M2M market into the mainstream over the next two years. Legislation is being implemented across Europe and other regions, creating demand for solutions in this emerging market. The ZMM-01 offers OEMs and ODMs the opportunity to accelerate their entry in to this fast-moving marketplace with a pre-certified and fully compliant turn-key solution."

Verizon Wireless Expands Machine-to-Machine Product Suite with Launch of TeleNav Asset Tracker™

TeleNav Asset Tracker also provides management with full-featured dynamic maps offering street and satellite views for easy identification of an asset's location.  Real-time alerts can be configured to send notifications when an asset enters or leaves a predetermined geo-fenced area, stops for an extended period of time or if there is a loss of communication with the tracking device.

Organizations can use this real-time location information to enhance supply chain and logistics operations by:
•    Monitoring the status of high-value shipments in transit between warehouses and delivery sites
•    Triggering specific activities, such as loading dock preparation, when cargo enters pre-determined areas to improve supply chain efficiency
•    Reducing theft and vandalism and increasing asset recovery by triggering automatic alerts when cargo moves locations
•    Providing security for trucks and loads traveling in remote locations or in extreme conditions
•    Accessing detailed historical data on the transit of cargo to support customer reporting requirements

Primary beneficiaries of TeleNav's asset tracking technology include manufacturers and distributors involved in shipping of consumer products, apparel, electronics, pharmaceuticals and other high-value goods.

"Many businesses are looking for new methods and products to help them improve the way in which they're able to manage the supply chain from end-to-end," said Mark Bartolomeo, vice president, global enterprise marketing, Verizon Wireless.  "In order to achieve that objective, a reliable network is paramount.  TeleNav Asset Tracker provides our enterprise customers with an all encompassing product that gives them the data they need to monitor assets once they hit the road, helping them to better manage their logistics operations, reduce theft and generate the detailed reporting their customers require."

TeleNav Asset Tracker works with the PT200, a portable, rugged tracking device, manufactured by Sendum, that can be placed in packages, containers or mounted to equipment.  The device can be easily moved from one asset or container to another, giving organizations flexibility in what they choose to monitor at any given time.

The Sendum PT200 uses assisted GPS, a technology that combines satellite GPS with cellular tower triangulation data, to provide rapid "first fix" triangulation as well as location information when the device is connected to the Verizon Wireless network but does not have satellite line of sight.  The device is also designed for extreme conditions, working in temperatures ranging from minus 20 degrees to 60 degrees Celsius (minus 4 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit).

"TeleNav Asset Tracker has been well received by a variety of businesses because it provides consistent and accurate location data even in challenging situations, from being placed in a single box as part of a high-value load to tracking a trailer traveling through extreme weather conditions," said Ravi Acharya, director of product marketing for TeleNav Enterprise Mobility.  "Combined with our secure management portal that provides a mapping engine, alerts, route monitoring and device management tools, it gives organizations a high level of control and visibility throughout the supply chain."
